I am Terry Dillon, a seasoned estate planning lawyer, born and raised in Sarasota, FL. Though it may sound odd, being a lawyer came naturally to me. After all, it runs in the family. My father established the practice in 1962, and my steadfast work ethic is all thanks to his valuable lessons and experience. I’m honored to have carried on his hard work by taking over the business.
My father was a family-oriented man and formed close and personal relationships with his clients. He always went the extra mile for them, which quickly became one of his most admirable traits. As my father’s son, I carry on the tradition of putting my clients at the forefront of everything I do, including making house calls or answering the phone whenever I am needed. Even if you’re just asking a quick question to get my opinion on a matter, I’m happy to make time for you.
I’m well aware of how valuable word of mouth can be and am proud of the many referrals I continue to receive. I greatly appreciate how often my clients go out of their way to tell family, friends, and even strangers about me and my estate planning services.
I have been practicing law for more than two decades. My specialization is estate planning including wills, trusts, living wills, health care surrogates, and power of attorneys. I also have experience in handling copyright law and setting up LLCs. I’m happy to provide my services in as many areas as possible without sacrificing the best results for my clients. For any area not within my realm of expertise, I provide referrals to other local attorneys and lawyers that I trust.
As for my background, I’ll be honest: I did not always know what I wanted to do with my career. I started as a master technician for Toyota, Mitsubishi, and General Motors for six years. During that time, I realized that it wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
I went back to school and applied myself. Thankfully, I found my niche with law. Looking back, it makes sense that I’d gravitate towards law. My father had his own practice, which finally motivated me to follow in his footsteps. As a result, I’m as thoughtful and considerate towards my clients as he was with his, and I’m always striving to improve the lives of those around me.
If you have any questions, whether about estate planning or me personally, I’m happy to answer them. Feel free to contact me to learn more at your convenience.
